EuroCave Classic Shelves

Revolutionary new shelf

MDS

ACMS (incorporating 12 x 'MDS' bottle supports)

EU law now dictates that woods for certain applications must be from a European renewable source.

In response to this, Eurocave has changed the wooden front of its shelving to Beech wood. Previously, the warm brown shelf front was made from a non-EU renewable sourced tropical hardwood called Sapeli. The new Beech wood front is much paler and used on all new orders from July 2008.

Combined with the new Beech wood front, Eurocave has designed a revolutionary new sliding shelf. The ACMS shelf base is made up of 12 individual Main du Sommelier - 'MDS' (Hand of the Sommelier) bottle supports. Each MDS can be adjusted along the width of the shelf thus better accommodating the growing number of differing 750ml wine bottle shapes and sizes.  The new ACMS shelf is the only product on the market today that can easily adapt to different bottle shapes and sizes. The ACMS improves bottle stability and air circulation within the cabinet, helping to maintain humidity and uniformity of temperature.

Capacities: Many manufacturers including Eurocave state bottle capacities for their cabinets.  Capacities are usually stated as maxima and generally calculated on the traditional Bordeaux shaped bottle. Previously Eurocave customers could store 13 traditional Bordeaux bottles on a sliding shlef, but in most cases with wine collectors owning wine from around the world, 12 or even 11 bottle storage per sliding shelf was most common. EuroCave has decided that calculating capacity based on traditional Bordeaux bottles (that really no longer exist) is misleading due to the many differing bottle shapes on the market today. Now, when Eurocave says you can get 12 bottles on a shelf, you really can get 12 bottles on a shelf* thanks to the adjustable nature of the MDS. The capacities now stated on the website and in the literature are now more accurate, with the actual number of bottles you can store remaining almost the same as in older models. Don't be fooled by misleading capacity claims elsewhere. EuroCave offers the largest capacity of any model of equal and in many instances larger external cabinet dimensions.

*this is not a guarantee, and there may be exceptions for significantly oversized 750ml wine bottles and Champagne in all cases. An ACMS fits 11 x standard 89mm base diameter bottles.
