Humidity Cassette
Optimize the humidity level of your wine fridge.
A simple to use cassette designed to help maintain an optimal humidity level inside the wine cabinet.
The role of humidity
Humidity is a key factor in proper wine storage. A humidity level of around 70% is recommended to keep corks supple and airtight. Below 50%, corks may dry out, allowing oxygen to enter the bottle and increasing the risk of wine oxidation. Above 80%, the air becomes too humid, which can promote mold growth and damage labels.
How the humidity cassette works ?
The humidity cassette is an accessory filled with clay beads, which are particularly effective for natural humidity regulation. Thanks to their porous structure, the clay beads absorb excess moisture and slowly release water when the air becomes too dry.
This solution is both eco friendly and economical. Clay is a natural, non toxic material and the cassette can be reused indefinitely. The clay beads are odorless, which is essential to ensure optimal wine aging.
The cassette supports the humidity creation process inside the cellar through gradual water evaporation, helping maintain an optimal humidity level.
How to use the humidity cassette ?
If you notice a low humidity level (below 50%) a few days after starting your wine fridge, it is strongly recommended to use the humidity cassette supplied with your appliance. In very dry external conditions, adding a second cassette may be necessary.
The humidity cassette is very easy to use. Place it in the designated tray at the bottom of the wine cabinet, under the grid. For first use, fully immerse the cassette in water for a few minutes to allow the clay beads to absorb moisture, then drain it thoroughly. Depending on external ambient conditions (dry air), adding approximately 10 cl of water may be necessary at intervals of several months.
